Deep Listening
Study Circle

Facilitated by Ludwig Berger

During these Tuesday evening sessions, the participants of the Study Circle practised Deep Listening after the composer Pauline Oliveros. The sessions were guided by Ludwig Berger who brought a calm introspective energy to the group.

In Pauline Oliveros’ words : “Deep Listening is listening in every possible way to everything possible to hear no matter what you are doing.”

Through sonic meditations, breathing exercises, movement and improvisations, the participants were able to question the individual and collective experience of listening by sharing their personal intake in an open and inclusive setting.

An online group conversation (Dream Pod) was created for sharing dreams as a way to integrate the process of dreaming in the experience of listening to foster the act of dreaming together and blur the boundaries between dream and reality.

A Sunday morning session was held outside on a nice snowy day where participants could partake in some guided Deep Listening experiences within the soundscape of the city.
