This is a special invitation for the World Creation Studio community and MUTEK Market and Incubator artists.
On Tuesday, August 19, we’re hosting a studio mixer—an evening to catch up, meet new potential collaborators, and share what’s ahead. There’ll be music, drinks, and time to connect as the festival week gets underway.
We’ll be introducing Common Process, a new series of bi-weekly sessions (Sept–Nov) for co-working, skill-sharing, and informal showings, with an open invitation to learn more about taking part in the first edition.
Each year, many in our community share work at MUTEK, and 2025 is no exception. This year’s program features performances, exhibitions, and talks by WCS members, residents, and collaborators, including:
The pilot edition of Common Process, launching in partnership with MUTEK, will welcome up to five Montréal-based artists from MUTEK’s Incubator and Market to join for the three-month cycle of shared studio activity, alongside a group of artists from the WCS members and community.
Designed for artists working in sound, digital, and interdisciplinary practices, Common Process is a new series at World Creation Studio that brings together artists to work side-by-side, share skills, exchange feedback, and open their creative process in an informal setting.
Participants meet regularly for:
- Regular co-working sessions
- Peer-led skill-sharing and feedback exchanges
- Informal showings and discussion opportunities
- Opportunities for public presentation
Encouraging artists to share their work, ideas, and processes, the series will also organize a semi-annual weekend-long Open Studio, welcoming any participating artist interested to present. Programming may include video installations, sound works, performances, XR works, talks, panels, workshops, etc. The goal is to offer a flexible and inclusive space for sharing in-progress or completed work with both peers and the public.
