Common Process
September – November 2025
Extended Deadline: September 12, 2025
Designed for artists working in sound, digital, and interdisciplinary practices, Common Process is a new series at World Creation Studio that brings together artists to work side-by-side, share skills, exchange feedback, and open their creative process in an informal setting.
Participants meet regularly for:
- Co-working sessions
- Peer-led skill-sharing and feedback exchanges
- Informal showings and discussion opportunities
Encouraging artists to share their work, ideas, and processes, the series will also host a weekend-long Open Studio, welcoming any participating artist interested to present. Programming may include video installations, sound works, performances, XR works, talks, panels, workshops, etc. The goal is to offer a flexible and inclusive space for sharing in-progress or completed work with both peers and the public.
The pilot edition is presented in collaboration with MUTEK Montréal, with applications open to artists from MUTEK’s Incubator and Market as well as members of the WCS community. Together, up to 12 participants will form a three-month cohort of collective studio activity.
Program Structure
The program offers weekly co-working, with themed group sessions every other week—ranging from sharing origins and approaches, to troubleshooting challenges, to preparing work for presentation. The final sessions in November focus on assembling, testing, and presenting projects.
