Local Spin is a monthly workshop series hosted by a different DJ each session at World Creation Studio. Designed for individuals interested in trying out mixing for the first time or DJs starting out and interested in brushing up on their mixing skills and sharing music with new friends.

RICO RICA (a.k.a. mmmmrico) is a Colombian-Canadian DJ, singer-songwriter, and creative director inspired by the heat of Barranquilla’s Carnival, the neo-nostalgia of digital subcultures, and global rhythms shaped by constant migration. Blending Caribbean beats like Dembow, Guaracha, and Champeta with experimental electronic music, their sound fuses nostalgia and futurism—reimagining Latin folklore while pushing genre boundaries.
Rooted in community and collaboration, they organize events across cities like Barcelona, Montreal, Madrid, Berlin, New York, and throughout Colombia—centering Queer and Trans communities and building bridges across diasporas. In Montreal, they co-founded Club Kadera with Teykirisi to spotlight local Latin American voices, and are the creative director of Ctrl+Alt Festival with Studio ZX. They recently launched the party series Worldwide Baddies, further solidifying their international presence. “
A member of Paria Records, RICO RICA embodies the label’s vision of bridging tradition and avant-garde, amplifying underground sounds and peripheral voices. In 2025, they will release their debut EP produced by Bclip on Paria Records, alongside collaborations with Pvssy, DJ Fucci, Entrañas, dj g2g, 1OO1O, Jaijiu, Freebot, and Negraconda.
